The news is spreading! Nominated as “Best New Discovery 2016/17” in the San Francisco Classical Voice Bay Area Annual Poll, the Live at Mission Blue Concert Series is no longer one of Brisbane’s hidden treasures.
The Live at Mission Blue Concert Series was founded in 2003 by local resident Kevin Fryer, renowned harpsichord maker and photographer, and the concerts are designed to take advantage of the unique and beautiful natural acoustics of the Mission Blue Center. Saturday, January 20th, 2018 marks the beginning of the 14th Season of this lauded concert series, with a performance by Frequency 49. Tickets are available online at http://www.liveatmissionblue.com and at Brisbane City Hall.
Live at Mission Blue is supported by the City of Brisbane though the Residents Artist Co-sponsorship Program, and sponsored by the Friends of the Brisbane Library. Additional underwriting is provided by the Brisbane Chamber of Commerce and many of its member businesses, as well as gratefully received individual donations from the community.
This year’s Brisbane School District program includes members of the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra on January 25th at 9:30 am at the Mission Blue Center. Generously sponsored by the BEST/PTO, this is
a remarkable opportunity to enhance the musical education for our community’s students. Parents are invited to attend.
All concerts feature a pre-concert talk with the Artists, and the concerts are followed by a lively complimentary reception. Tickets are affordable and are available as a single ticket or series subscription.
Concert Schedule: 7:30 pm Pre-Concert Talks; 8:00 pm Performance. Saturday, January 20th; Saturday, February 17th; Saturday, March 17th; and Saturday, April 21st. To find out more details about each concert performer and program, please visit us online at http://www.liveatmissionblue.com
