Mayor's State of the City Address

Chamber Members Networking at the Luncheon

At the September 26th Chamber luncheon, 60 attendees were treated to a fabulous chicken buffet, catered by xebec bar + dining, a presentation by First National Bank of Northern California, and Seton Health Foundation before the State of the City program presented by Mayor Cy Bologoff.
Mayor Bologoff spoke eloquently on the revenues and expenditures of the City since Proposition 13 was passed in 1978. He pointed out that revenues after inflation have not changed dramatically with Crocker Industrial Park with the annexation to the City in the mid-eighties. Expenditures have increased due to additional costs in Public Safety and Parks and Recreation.
New projects being constructed by the city include the Tunnel Avenue bridge to insure earthquake safety of this vital link to 101; city hall remodel; city corporation yard; street crossing for Crocker Recreational Trails; and new police detective to handle drug and economic crimes.
The Mayor proudly spoke of the approval of a new agreement with related to the Northeast Ridge will provide funding for a gymnasium as well as additional money for the Habitat Control Plan to save the endangered butterflies on San Bruno Mountain; the seven Habitat for Humanity housing units and the new recreational facilities which include the Quarry Road Park, remodeled Skate Park and basketball courts.
