Curtis L. Washington Sworn In as Brisbane School Board Trustee

By: Jacque McLaughlin, Brisbane Elementary School District Board Trustee, jmclaughlin@brisbanesd.org

At its December 12th meeting, Mr. Curtis L. Washington was sworn in as a member of the Brisbane School Board. The Board of Trustees appointed Curtis to fill the vacant board member position created when Trustee Roxana Hui decided not to run for reelection and no candidate was elected to replace her.
Mr. Washington is an alumni parent of the Brisbane School District, and has remained an active member of the school district community, including many years of service through the BEST-PTO. A former teacher, Mr. Washington holds a degree in Engineering from Princeton University and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University. Mr. Washington has extensive experience as a former member of the California Teachers Association Board of Directors and the California State Board of Education, in addition to many other boards and councils. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Washington to the Brisbane School District Board of Trustees when his term officially starts in December. Mr. Washington can also be reached via email at cwashington@brisbanesd.org.
I’d like to also take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Roxana Hui for her many years of service to the Brisbane School District. In addition to her four years on the Board of Trustees, Mrs. Hui has been an active and vital member of the Panorama and Lipman School communities. Her presence will be sorely missed.
