In an effort to get individuals back to work, the San Mateo County Economic Development Agency in partnership with NOVAworks have established the Paid Work Experience Program for up to 30 San Mateo County residents. To be eligible, SMC residents must have lost their jobs or lost hours due to COVID-19 and be eligible to work in the United States. Participants will receive work-based learning paying up to $20 per hour for up to 40 hours a week in a potentially new occupation. The term of work will be about 4-6 weeks ending on or about December 24th, 2020. The program will give participants networking opportunities, the possibility of longer-term employment, and other supportive services like assistance with rent and utilities if they qualify. Businesses participating come from the retail, restaurant, service provider, and technology sectors.
To apply, submit your: name, phone number, email, and address to Program Manager Matt Klein at mklein@novaworks.org
