Governor Newsom Orders San Mateo County Businesses to Close

Effective today, Sunday, August 2nd at 12:01 AM, The following indoor businesses/activities must close due to the county’s placement on the state’s COVID-19 monitoring list
  • Gyms and fitness centers
  • Places of worship and cultural ceremonies, like weddings and funerals
  • Offices for non-critical infrastructure sectors
  • Personal care services, like nail salons and body waxing
  • Hair salons and barbershops
  • Shopping Malls
These businesses may still operate if they can move their activities outdoors.
Hair Salons and Barbershops must follow these protocols for outdoor operations
Personal Care Services must follow these protocols for outdoor operations
Businesses that offer tattoos, piercings, and electrolysis may not be operated outdoors and must close.

YogaSix to Open August 6th

In the April Luminary we showcased YogaSix, a new yoga studio opening in Oyster Point. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, their opening was delayed a few months. However, YogaSix has decided to officially open on August 6th, conducting classes outdoors and virtually. Those who join before their opening date will enjoy 25% off of the membership rate for life.
August 6th-August 9th YogaSix will celebrate their founding members with exclusive access to classes. Founding members may bring a guest to class and can take this time to learn about the six classes offered and meet YogaSix’s instructors.
Beginning August 10th, YogaSix will offer the following class schedule:
  • Mondays: Virtual Class 10 – 11 am, outside class 4 – 5 pm and 5:30 – 6:30 pm
  • Tuesdays: outside class 8:30 – 9:30 am and 10 – 11 am, Virtual class 7 – 8 pm
  • Wednesdays: Virtual Class 7 – 8 am, outside class 4 – 5 pm and 5:30 – 6:30 pm
  • Thursdays: outside class 8:30 – 9:30 am and 10 – 11 am, Virtual class 7 – 8 pm
  • Fridays: Virtual Class 7 – 8 am, outside class 4 – 5 pm and 5:30 – 6:30 pm
  • Saturdays: outside class 8:30 – 9:30 am and 10 – 11 am
  • Sundays: outside class 8:30 – 9:30 am and 10 – 11 am
Outdoor classes will take place at the courtyard near their studio: 101 Oyster Point Blvd, South San Francisco
YogaSix will be implementing the following safety protocols:
  • Temperature checks for staff and members/participants upon arrival
  • Masks must be worn by staff and members/participants at all times
  • Staff and members/participants will maintain 6 ft minimum of social distancing before, during, and after classes
  • Touchless check in will be provided
  • No rentals of mats or blocks/props will be allowed but new ones will be available for sale
  • Weights and Bands provided for class will be disinfected
  • Hand Sanitizer will be provided
  • Instructors will not provide hands-on adjustments
