On October 3rd the City of Brisbane in partnership with the Brisbane Lions Club, hosted the second annual screening of LUNAFEST, a film festival featuring films for, about, and by women. The event raised $24,200 for scholarships for women pursuing degrees in male-dominated fields, totaling just under $55,000 raised in the last 2 years.
The majority of this money came from corporate sponsorships from Brisbane businesses. Sponsorships came from the following: Bronze sponsors: South San Francisco Scavenger, Golden State Lumber, Peninsula Clean Energy, Kaiser Permanente, and Mayor Terry O’Connell. Silver sponsors included Recology, Sound Productions, W Bradley Electric, Lyon Medical Construction, and two anonymous donors. The Gold sponsor was Universal Paragon Corporation. The Platinum sponsors included Prologis, Healthpeak, and Anna Sweeney and Brett Crockett. The Diamond sponsor was Phase 3 Properties. We’ve also had donations made by San Mateo Credit Union, Jasama Patel, and Brehmer’s Candies.
We sincerely thank all of the businesses for their support.
